Live and Learn

Are you interested in the future of places for learning, environment, and methodology? Do you want to explore how we create sustainable places where living and learning coexist in new ways? Are you curious about hybrid environments where technology, nature, and culture can interact and develop? Discuss, play, and investigate together with various educational professionals, researchers, students, architects, and campus developers in a unique cultural environment. Live and Learn is the endpoint for the research project H+Forest where an interdisciplinary team and students in multiple workshops have worked on how the future campus can function as a sustainable model for societal transformation.

Tasting a turning point.

How can we create material for a new meal situation?

Tasting a turning point involves sharing a transformative life experience that led to adopting more sustainable habits, creatively translating the experience into a tangible taste. This initiative supports individual and collective meal preparation and aims to encourage sustainable choices by using food as a design material.

VRLab - Volvo Cars and Chalmers [Drop In - Drop Out]

We're excited to invite you to ‘test’ these ideas for Sustainable Future Campus, which were co-created with the students from Chalmers, GU, LTH and KTH. The spatial ideas like ’Retreat’, ‘Garden’ and ‘Creative space’ were brought into a virtual world, created by the skilled Volvo Cars XR Lab. By diving into the VR experiences, you can share your feedback with us. It's a unique opportunity to see how your visions could transform our campus environment.

Workshop - Architecture-School Sthlm [Drop In - Drop Out]

We start from the concept of resonance formulated by Hartmut Rosa, and in a construction workshop, we approach craftsmanship, materials, and construction in our quest to establish a resonant relationship with our surroundings and with architecture. In the craft of building, we let our visions meet a concrete reality. We take on the role of process-leading architects in the work of reusing building materials. The idea of establishing a permanent construction workshop on campus for university students opens up opportunities for both recreation and creative creation, as well as for a campus area where different types of festivals and events can be initiated, produced, and built on-site by the students.

Workshop - Walking the Process - Akademiska Hus [Drop In - Drop Out]

Where do you currently see yourself on the path from generating ideas to taking action? What challenges or obstacles are you encountering along the way? Who would you like to see at the table in the upcoming process?

We invite you to join us for an interactive workshop where we’ll explore the H+ Forest process together, focusing on the powerful action of co-creation. Picture yourself as part of a collaborative journey—together, we’ll uncover the essential steps that could help turning ideas into impactful actions. This is an opportunity to share experiences, gain insights, and inspire meaningful change. Don’t miss this chance to collaborate and be a part of the transformative journey.

H+Forest

Live and Learn is the endpoint for the research project H+Forest, where an interdisciplinary team and students in multiple workshops have worked on how the future campus can function as a sustainable model for societal transformation. The 'H' in our project name represents 'Human,' while 'Forest' embodies a nature-based approach, emphasizing nature-inspired processes and design. A campus is both a reflection of and a potential laboratory for societal change. In H+Forest, we have explored how existing buildings can be transformed in a sustainable way and demonstrated how hybrid transitions can work on both small and large scales. Based on the results presented during the festival, we invite you to participate in building the future we want in our knowledge environments.

Project partners are: Chalmers University of Technology, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Lund University, Akademiska Hus, Volvo Cars, Arkitekturinstitutet, Boiler, and Sustain Lab. H+Forest is financed by the Swedish Energy Agency and SVID through the program ‘Design for Energy Efficient Everyday’
